Adnan Sami, the Pakistan-born singer who became an Indian citizen in 2016, recently told that after 1998, he sought new opportunities due to lack of support in Pakistan’s music industry.
He shared that his songs were not promoted, which left him disappointed, and he confided in Asha Bhosle, who encouraged him to move to Mumbai.
Sami recalled how Bhosle’s family supported him, letting him stay at RD Burman’s home, which he described as a “music temple.”
The songs that failed in Pakistan, like Kabhi To Nazar Milao and Lift Karadey, became massive hits in India in June 2016, thanks to proper marketing and the love of Indian audiences.
He also expressed sadness over the struggles faced by legendary Pakistani artists due to lack of official support, despite their talent and public admiration.
