Golchehrah Yaftali, a women’s rights activist, shared a video on social media showing a young man being harassed by the Taliban solely for having long hair. She described this action as pure hypocrisy.
In the caption accompanying the video, Yaftali wrote: “The harassment of a young man by the Taliban just because he had long hair, while most of the Taliban themselves have long hair and are often infested with lice, is pure hypocrisy.”
Zalmay Khalilzad, former US Special Representative for Afghanistan, reposted her content commenting: “If true, this is terrible.” These reactions come as the Taliban group continues to impose increasing restrictions on Afghan citizens across the country.
