Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, recently met with French politicians Geoffroy Didier and Valérie Pécresse.

Didier shared a photo of the meeting, emphasizing that the Afghan people need Massoud’s “great courage” in their struggle.

Previously, Pécresse had described Massoud on her X account as “the real resistance fighter” against what she called “Islamic totalitarianism and the oppression of women” in Afghanistan.

She characterized him as “a symbol of hope for freedom” and called for continued French support for Massoud’s efforts.

Ali Maisam Nazary, head of foreign relations for the Resistance Front, responded to this meeting by highlighting the historical relationship between Afghanistan and France based on shared values.

While France is considered close to Massoud, it has not taken an official position supporting armed resistance against the Taliban. Massoud has repeatedly stated that he receives no financial support from any country.
