The police commander of Tehran’s Pishva district has announced the arrest of the suspect in the murder of Kubra Rezayi, a 26-year-old Afghan girl.
According to Young Journalists Club’s report on June 13, 2025, the suspect was apprehended following intelligence and operational efforts by the police and has confessed to the crime.
Last week, the Hengaw human rights organization reported the discovery of the mutilated body of this Afghan girl.
Despite the arrest, further details about the suspect’s identity and motive have not been released. Reports indicate that Kubra Rezayi’s family has not yet received permission to hold her funeral ceremony.
The Taliban group responded to this murder after a week, demanding that Iranian judicial authorities investigate the case.
