Rah-e-Farda TV has announced the resumption of its broadcasts after a two-month suspension through an official statement.

The Taliban had halted the network’s operations in early May 2023.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture had cited “repeated complaints from journalists and staff” regarding “non-payment of several years of salaries and benefits” as the reason for the suspension.

In the statement issued by Rah-e-Farda, network officials expressed gratitude for the audience’s support and promised that the media outlet would return with a new approach, amplifying people’s voices more effectively than before.

This development comes at a time when many Afghan media outlets have faced severe restrictions in recent years.

Rah-e-Farda TV is a private radio and television network established on September 26, 2006 in Kabul.

The network was founded by Mohammad Mohaqiq, a prominent political figure in the country, and has consistently been one of the influential media outlets in Afghanistan’s media landscape.
