According to Ukrainian intelligence assessments, North Korea plans to triple the number of its troops on the frontlines against Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials have stated that North Korea will send approximately 30,000 additional troops to support Russian soldiers in the war.

Ukrainian military officials predict these new forces will likely be deployed to Russia within a month. According to their assessments, the Russian Ministry of Defense is currently supplying the necessary military equipment, weapons, and ammunition for these troops.

Kyiv has released documents showing that North Korean forces are expected to be stationed in Ukrainian territories currently under Russian control.

Based on reports, North Korea previously sent about 11,000 troops last fall to help Russia in the Kursk region. Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s leader, declared on May 9th that his country’s participation in the Russia-Ukraine war was “justified” and warned that if the United States continues “military provocations against Russia,” North Korea would not hesitate to authorize the use of military force.
