The Taliban’s Supreme Court has announced that it has flogged a person on charges of adultery in Kapisa province.

According to the court’s statement released on Monday, August 18, 2025, this unidentified individual was punished in the Hesa-e-Awal district of Kapisa and sentenced to six months in prison in addition to the corporal punishment.

According to the report, the accused was sentenced to 39 lashes, which was carried out in public.

This punishment takes place as the Taliban has previously implemented numerous cases of corporal punishment in various parts of Afghanistan.
This action coincides with the fourth anniversary of the Taliban’s control over Afghanistan.

The Taliban had previously flogged four people in Chahar Asyab district of Kabul on similar charges, and it appears that corporal punishment of citizens by this group continues unabated.
