The human rights organization “Hal Vash” has reported that the Islamic Republic of Iran has executed six Afghan citizens in the central prison of Bandar Abbas.

According to the report published on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, these individuals were transferred to the quarantine section of the prison on Sunday, August 17.

The families of these prisoners were not informed about the exact time of the execution or given the opportunity for a final visit with their loved ones.

Based on reports from human rights organizations, Afghan citizens in Iran often face processes in which they have insufficient access to the right to legal representation and fair trial.

These executions have taken place amid an increasing trend of executions of Afghan citizens in Iran in recent years.

Previously, the human rights organization “Hengaw” had also reported that in less than the first eight months of 2025, at least 800 people have been executed in Iran, among them 46 Afghan citizens.

This alarming statistic demonstrates the difficult situation of Afghan nationals in Iran.
