According to media reports, two Taliban cabinet members have revealed that Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada announced two weeks ago during a cabinet meeting that women have no right to modern education and their attendance at religious schools has “no religious justification.

” The Taliban leader justified this decision by referring to the era of the third Muslim Caliph, when women were prohibited from going to mosques.

This decision has created a wave of disappointment even among Taliban cabinet members.

One minister told: “His position clearly contradicts Quranic verses and Prophetic traditions.

Religious education is obligatory for all Muslims, whether woman or man.” Another Taliban official warned: “If the situation continues like this, Afghanistan will again become a battlefield for warlords.”

The ban on education for women, which previously included schools, universities and private educational institutions, now targets religious education as well.

Observers believe this decision could lead to increased domestic and international pressure and protests against the Taliban government.
