In continuation of physical punishment of individuals by the Taliban group, their Supreme Court announced that four people, including two women, were flogged in public in Ghazni and Baghlan provinces.

The Taliban say they sentenced a woman and a man in Ghazni on charges of “moral corruption” to three months in prison and 30 lashes.
According to the Taliban Supreme Court, two others including a woman were also flogged in Baghlan on charges of “illicit relationship.” These individuals were sentenced to three months in prison and 35 lashes based on the ruling of the primary court of Baghlan province.
Previously, UNAMA (United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan) reported in its quarterly report that the Taliban had flogged 234 people in various provinces over three months. The report stated that these individuals included 185 men, 48 women, and one boy.
