Sources from Nurgram district in Nuristan province reported that on Monday, the Taliban group injured at least four people by shooting during a protest against land grabbing.
Protesters accuse Zain al-Abidin Abed, the Taliban governor, of supporting powerful land grabbers.
The protests began when the Taliban arrested several tribal elders in Nurgram district.
In response to these arrests, Nurgram residents organized demonstrations that were met with violence from Taliban security forces, resulting in at least four injuries from gunfire.
A local resident said that in the Gandalbok area, Gujjars intended to seize lands with Taliban support, but people prevented them.
Videos received show parts of the demonstrations and gunfire sounds. The Taliban has not yet issued an official response to these events.
