India’s National Seismological Center reported that today, Tuesday, September 2nd at 4:59 PM, an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale once again shook parts of Nangarhar province.

This earthquake occurred at a depth of 130 kilometers underground.


This marks the second significant earthquake in the region, following Sunday night’s 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck the same province and was followed by eight aftershocks.


According to Taliban group statements, these earthquakes have collectively claimed the lives of more than 1,411 Afghans.

These figures demonstrate the severity of destruction and casualties caused by these natural disasters in eastern Afghanistan.
