The Taliban’s judiciary department in Nangarhar province has warned all charitable and relief organizations not to photograph women while distributing aid to earthquake victims in the country’s eastern provinces .
In the letter, photographing women during aid distribution was described as contrary to Islamic and Afghan values and sensitive.
This restriction comes while reports indicate that the shortage of female aid workers and female doctors in earthquake-affected areas has created serious challenges for local residents and victims, especially injured women.
It is worth noting that the Taliban had previously banned women from working in UN and relief organizations and imposed severe restrictions on female doctors’ work.
These measures have negatively impacted relief efforts for earthquake victims in the affected regions.
