He added that their biggest fear is large rocks that could fall on them at any moment

Following the magnitude 6 earthquakes on August 30th in eastern Afghanistan, at least 2,205 people were killed and over 3,500 injured .

After those deadly earthquakes, at least eleven more aftershocks with magnitude 4 occurred in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces . Earthquake-affected families have gathered in temporary camps near the damaged areas.

Shams al-Rahman, a 40-year-old farmer, said he lost six family members and fled with his 9-member family .

Gul Ahmad, 51, said: “Even if there’s no earthquake, simple rain can bring rocks down from the mountain. We won’t go back” .

International relief organizations warn that without adequate shelter, this situation will lead to the spread of disease and poverty.
