The Taliban group officially inaugurated the underground market in Kabul’s Pol-e-Kheshti area on Tuesday, September 9th, during a formal ceremony.
Khalid Sajestani, Deputy Mayor of Taliban’s Kabul municipality, announced that this market has been contracted to a private company for 30 years.
According to the signed contract, 65 percent of the market’s revenue will go to the private company while 35 percent will be transferred to Kabul municipality.
The construction of this project took more than one year to complete.
Sajestani also announced that currently more than 200 development projects worth billions of Afghanis are being implemented across Kabul city.
He emphasized the importance of protecting and properly utilizing this underground market facility.
