Government sources confirmed to media that the Taliban group is once again attempting to reduce the number of employees in ministries.

The order has been issued to the Defense and Industry & Commerce ministries, requiring a 10% reduction in staff positions.

The Taliban has requested these two ministries to identify personnel for position cuts.

Previously, the group had reduced 20% of staff positions in some government offices and ministries under their control.

Sources indicate that Sirajuddin Haqqani, Taliban’s Interior Minister, has prevented implementation of the 20% reduction plan in the Interior Ministry to protect trusted individuals.

The Taliban’s Finance Ministry had delayed salary payments to Interior Ministry staff due to non-compliance with this reduction plan.

Haqqani reportedly stated he would pay staff salaries from his personal budget rather than accept the reduction scheme, highlighting internal tensions within the Taliban administration over these austerity measures.
