The People’s Liberation Movement of Afghanistan claimed its fighters attacked Taliban forces Sunday evening, September 21st, in Guzara district of Herat province.

The operation, conducted around 9 PM local time, reportedly killed two Taliban members.


This lesser-known anti-Taliban group announced that its forces carried out an operation near the UNAMA office in Herat, killing Taliban personnel affiliated with the Al-Farouk Corps training center and seizing their equipment. Local sources in Herat have confirmed the occurrence of clashes in Guzara district.


According to UN statistics, from mid-May to the end of July this year, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan and the Afghanistan Freedom Front conducted at least 73 attacks against the Taliban.

Taliban officials have not yet commented on this incident.
