Mufti Shafieullah Rahmati, an Al-Azhar University graduate from Egypt, was killed after being tortured by unknown individuals in Maidan Wardak province two days ago.
The incident occurred in Jilrez district during the morning call to prayer.
Rahmati, who completed his higher education at one of the world’s most prestigious Islamic universities, and the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown at this time.
His family and friends are demanding immediate investigation and arrest of those responsible for this heinous crime.
