Bollywood star Rani Mukerji has clarified her stance on directing films, stating she’s currently content with acting.
In a recent interview, the actress said, “I always say in this profession ‘never say never’.
Right now, I don’t think it is. Right now, I am very happy being an actor and being directed.”
The 46-year-old actress, who comes from an influential film family, emphasized her commitment to continuous learning.
She explained that she remains a “student of cinema,” constantly observing people and learning from every director and crew member she works with.
Even during vacations, she studies human behavior to incorporate into her future characters.
Mukerji is set to reprise her beloved role as police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in “Mardaani 3,” scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by her husband Aditya Chopra, the film marks her continued focus on acting rather than moving behind the camera for now.
