The National Statistics and Information Authority announced that 1,066,067 electronic identity cards were distributed to citizens during the first six months of the current year.
Of this total, 804,789 cards were issued to men and 261,278 cards to women.
The report indicates that since the beginning of the electronic ID card distribution process in the country, more than 16,561,000 citizens have received electronic identity cards
Despite this, some residents of remote areas still complain about lack of easy access to ID distribution centers. The Taliban group claims that the work process in relevant offices is transparent and free from corruption.
