The commander of Khorasan Razavi border guards announced that over 40,000 Afghan citizens attempted illegal entry into the province during the first half of this year, representing a twofold increase compared to the same period last year.

Majid Shoja stated this figure was 19,000 people in the first half of last year added that since the beginning of the year, one million Afghan citizens have returned to their country through the Dogharoun border.

These statistics indicate a significant increase in Afghans’ attempts to enter Iran.

The Khorasan Razavi border guard commander emphasized that all these individuals were identified, detained, and returned to Afghanistan upon detection.

He attributed this increase to the large-scale deportation of Afghan migrants in recent months.
