In Kandahar, during a meeting of Taliban district governors for 34 provinces, a participant told Zawia News on condition of anonymity that one of the discussion topics was increasing district governors’ salaries.
The meeting confirmed that district governors’ salaries would be raised from current levels, and the amount of money given to each district governor for miscellaneous expenses would increase from 50,000 to 100,000.
This decision was made to improve the financial situation of Taliban local officials so they can better perform their duties.
