India has joined Pakistan, Russia, and China in opposing America’s military presence in Afghanistan.

This development comes as India prepares to host a two-day visit by Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister.

According to Times of India reports, these countries oppose America’s return to Bagram airbase.

During the Moscow meeting, representatives declared that foreign military presence in Afghanistan or neighboring countries is “unacceptable”.
The Taliban claims that during this visit, India may make commitments to upgrade diplomatic relations to embassy level.

This would be the first official visit by a senior Taliban official to India since August 2021.
