Amitabh Bachchan, born on October 11, 1942, in Prayagraj, is about to celebrate his 83rd birthday.
The Bollywood superstar worked in Kolkata before entering films and made his acting debut at age 27 with “Saat Hindustani” in 1969.
Bachchan received only 5,000 rupees ($60) for his first film, playing the character Anwar Ali.
The movie, directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, flopped at the box office but opened doors for more opportunities for the aspiring actor.
Throughout his 56-year career, this legendary actor has appeared in approximately 200 films and earned the “Angry Young Man” tag from the film Zanjeer.
Despite being over 80 years old, Bachchan remains active in the film industry and continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
