Zalmay Khalilzad, former US ambassador, called Pakistan’s attacks against Afghanistan’s capital a major crisis escalation, describing Pakistan’s actions as dangerous.

He wrote on X that Pakistani Taliban recently acted against ISIS, killing several of their leaders.

Khalilzad emphasized that military escalation between Pakistan and Afghanistan is not the solution and likely won’t work.

He warned that increasing these tensions will amplify death and destruction in both countries.

The former US ambassador considered negotiations between Kabul and Islamabad a better alternative to combat terrorist sanctuaries on both sides of the Durand Line, emphasizing diplomatic resolution of this issue.
