Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor openly acknowledged being a “product of nepotism” during the Celebrate Cinema 2025 festival at Whistling Woods International.

Speaking at a tribute session for legendary filmmakers Raj Kapoor and Guru Dutt, he admitted getting life “very easy” but emphasized the need for hard work.

The actor, son of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor and grandson of Raj Kapoor, stated: “I realized that I come from a family like this and if I don’t have an individualistic approach and if I don’t make a name for myself, I’ll not succeed in the film industry”.

He highlighted that while people celebrate his family’s successes, “there are a lot of failures also, and as much as you learn from the successes, you also learn from the failures”.
Currently, Kapoor is working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana adaptation where he’ll portray Lord Ram.

His last appearance was in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.
