Zalmay Khalilzad, former US representative for Afghanistan peace, following Pakistan’s recent airstrikes on Afghanistan, called on Islamabad to turn to diplomacy.

He said Pakistan should begin negotiations with both Afghanistan and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Khalilzad emphasized that Pakistan’s current strategy is ineffective and continuing this approach would be wrong.

He added that Pakistan is in a bad situation and must end this process.

The former US representative suggested that negotiations between Pakistan and TTP should resume from where they were agreed during Imran Khan’s premiership.

He said having better relations is in the vital interest of both countries.
