Khawaja Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, announced on Sunday, October 11th, on X that changing relations with the Taliban group forces Islamabad to adopt a new policy regarding Afghan migrants.
He stated that Afghan migrants who have lived in Pakistan for fifty years should be returned.
The Pakistani Defense Minister emphasized that his country’s economy must be freed from migrant control.
He pointed out that from bakeries to transportation, contracts, unloading mafias, and construction, all these sectors form the backbone of Pakistan’s economy.
Asif also called for complete border control between the two countries, saying no one should dare cross without permission. These statements come after recent clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani border guards that resulted in casualties on both sides.
