A Pakistani official source has denied Taliban claims about rejecting visa requests from Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Intelligence Chief, and generals.

The source stated that Pakistani officials had not submitted visa applications, but rather a proposal had been made to send a delegation.
The Pakistani source emphasized that “this was only a proposal,” not a visa request. Earlier, government sources from Kabul had told Afghanistan International that the Taliban administration rejected visa requests from Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Asim Malik, Intelligence Chief, and two other generals.

Contradictory reports about Pakistani officials’ desire to travel to Kabul are being published at a time when tensions between the two countries have increased unprecedentedly.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday wished for Afghan people to be freed and for a truly democratic government to come to power.
