Following the bloody border clash between the Afghan Taliban and Pakistani border forces on Saturday night, October 10th, Pakistani users and experts on social media reposted a video of Ahmad Shah Massoud’s statements, writing that his 30-year-old prediction has now come true.
Ashfaq Hassan, a retired Pakistani army officer, shared a video of Ahmad Shah Massoud, Afghanistan’s national hero, in which Massoud warns the Pakistani government about supporting the Taliban and its consequences. These remarks date back to the mid-1990s when the Taliban had just emerged during an interview.
Ashfaq Hassan wrote in the video description: “The great general of the Northern Alliance, the late Ahmad Shah Massoud, warned Pakistan thirty years ago that if you support the Taliban, these snakes will bite you.” Today, Ahmad Shah Massoud’s words have proven entirely correct as dozens of fighters were killed in the most serious fighting between the neighbors since the Taliban came to power.
