Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban’s Foreign Minister, announced during a meeting with Indian industry representatives that Afghanistan-India trade volume has reached approximately one billion dollars.

In a joint session with members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi, he stated that peace and security have been established in Afghanistan, creating conditions for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Indian private sector representatives emphasized that visa issuance for traders and facilitating goods transit between the two countries are among the most important obstacles in bilateral trade.

They called for reviewing the visa process and better organizing transit routes to prevent delays in Indian companies’ economic projects in Afghanistan.
India has been one of Afghanistan’s regional trading partners in recent years, but economic relations between the two countries decreased after the fall of the previous government and the Taliban’s rise to power.

Muttaqi requested visa facilitation for Afghan merchants to increase trade volume.
