A joint media investigation reveals that at least 110 former Afghan army members have been killed by the Taliban group over the past two years.

These findings show that the Taliban have not adhered to their promise of “general amnesty” and the systematic killing of former security forces continues.

Former army and national police forces, particularly members of special units and foreign force collaborators, are still targeted for arrest, torture, and revenge killings.

These killings have mostly occurred in the provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Balkh, and Helmand.

Sanjar Sohail, owner of Hasht-e Subh newspaper, said that when former soldiers return to Afghanistan from neighboring countries, “they immediately disappear or their bodies are found outside the city or village a few days later.

” Mike Lalor, a US Congress member, warned that leaving these killings unanswered would be “a stain on America’s moral conscience.”
