The Taliban group executed a man named Ismail on Thursday, October 15, 2025, at the stadium in Qala-e-Naw city, center of Badghis province, for allegedly killing two people.

The man, a resident of Jawand district in Badghis, was accused of shooting and killing a woman named Gulbarga and a man named Dost Mohammad.

The Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that the case was reviewed through three judicial stages and the execution order was issued after approval by Taliban leader Mulla Hibatullah.

The Taliban stated they offered the victims’ families the option of forgiveness, but they refused.

This marks the eleventh public execution by the Taliban since their return to power.

In March 2025, the Taliban executed four people in Badghis, Farah, and Nimroz provinces.

The United Nations has condemned these executions as inhumane and contrary to international law.
