Amrullah Saleh, Afghanistan’s fugitive vice president, reacted to Pakistan’s airstrikes on Kabul and Kandahar with the slogan: “Down with Taliban; shame on Pakistan and may its hands be cut off from our affairs.”
He called Taliban rule illegitimate, stating neither Taliban’s structure is legitimate nor does Pakistan have a trustworthy track record.
Saleh emphasized that patriotism should not be equated with supporting either of these entities.
He told patriotic figures they need not remain silent or support the Taliban.
The fugitive vice president added that Afghans are not without options and should rid themselves of this sense of helplessness.
Saleh concluded his message by writing: “When you think more deeply, contact me.
” He has previously called the Taliban Pakistan’s proxy force and described their control over Afghanistan as occupation by Pakistan.
