The British Ministry of Defense announced that the country has suspended its reconnaissance flights over Gaza following the release of hostages held by Hamas
. British surveillance aircraft had been continuously flying over Gaza since December 2023, with the stated purpose being “solely to find hostages”.
These flights, conducted from the Royal Air Force base in Cyprus, were part of international efforts to locate Israeli prisoners.
According to reports, Britain had conducted over 600 reconnaissance flights over the Gaza Strip.
With the end of these missions, a new chapter in regional relations has begun, and diplomatic efforts to resolve the Gaza crisis will continue.
This decision represents a shift in Britain’s approach to the Gaza crisis.
