Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced on Friday, October 30, 2025, that relations between Islamabad and Kabul will not return to normal until the Taliban group stops supporting the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.
He stated that several TTP members have taken refuge in Afghanistan and their infiltration into Pakistani territory must be stopped.
The Pakistani Defense Minister emphasized that terrorist infiltration from Afghan soil continues, and until this situation changes, implementing any agreement between the two countries will not be possible.
He added that Pakistan’s biggest demand is to stop terrorist infiltration from Afghanistan.
These statements were made while Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban group’s Interior Minister, said on Thursday, October 29, 2025, that the TTP issue is Pakistan’s “internal matter” and should be resolved within that country.
He added that the Taliban group has firm resolve to defend the country against any foreign aggression.
