Fawzia Koofi, Afghan politician, expressed concern about the northern Afghanistan earthquake in a social media post on X.
She stated that natural disasters in Afghanistan have claimed many lives this year alone.
Koofi emphasized that after the deadly earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, now the north has been hit by another earthquake.
She added that in an already fragile economic situation, poor infrastructure and limited access to health services make the impact of natural disasters on people’s lives double.
The politician called on aid organizations and the United Nations in Afghanistan to support the affected communities in northern Afghanistan.
She also highlighted the lack of women’s access to the job market and economic opportunities, which compounds the disaster’s impact on vulnerable populations.
