Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced at the World Islamic Parliaments Conference that his country is ready to cooperate with the Taliban group, provided they take effective action against Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other terrorist groups.
Sharif emphasized that peace and stability are the foundation of sustainable development, and progress is only possible in societies where security exists. He added that Pakistan has repeatedly experienced anti-peace activities.
These statements come as relations between Islamabad and Kabul have deteriorated due to Pakistan’s accusations of TTP activities operating from Afghan soil.
