Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, said Wednesday in his parliamentary speech after approving Pakistan’s 27th constitutional amendment that the Taliban group’s relationship with India is a factor in increasing terrorist attacks in the country.
He emphasized that these relations have led to intensified insecurity in border areas.
The Pakistani Prime Minister had earlier called attacks by the Pakistani Taliban from Afghan soil against the country unacceptable.
Sharif stated that Pakistan shares the international community’s major concerns about major terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan.
He specifically mentioned concerns about ISIS Khorasan, Pakistani Taliban, Al-Qaeda, and other groups.
These statements come as relations between Kabul and Islamabad have deteriorated in recent months due to security issues and support for armed groups.
Pakistan accuses the Taliban group of harboring the Pakistani Taliban movement, while the Taliban denies providing sanctuary to anti-Pakistan elements operating from Afghan territory.
