Grammy-nominated singer and producer Akon was arrested last week in Georgia following an outstanding warrant.

The 52-year-old artist was taken into custody on November 7 after failing to appear in court for a suspended driver’s license violation incident stems back to September 10, when Akon was reportedly caught driving with a suspended license in Roswell, Georgia.

The Chamblee Police Department arrested him on the morning of November 7 and booked him into DeKalb County Jail

Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Thiam, fully cooperated with authorities during the arrest and was released within six hours. The “Smack That” hitmaker has now resolved this legal matter and continues his career.
