A massive fire broke out in the Wangfook residential complex in Hong Kong, resulting in 44 confirmed deaths and 279 people reported missing. The complex houses about 2,000 apartments with over 4,600 residents.
Authorities have arrested three men from a construction company on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter related to the fire.
Some residents remain trapped inside their apartments due to the fire’s intensity, and evacuation efforts are ongoing as investigations continue.
