Fawzia Koofi, former member of the Afghan Parliament, expressed sympathy for the two US National Guards injured in Washington and condemned the recent attack.

She highlighted that the attacker, a 29-year-old Afghan from Khost province, had previously served in the former Afghan army.

Koofi questioned how individuals with violent backgrounds and Taliban ties could enter the US, while hundreds of loyal Afghan security forces remain deprived of resettlement opportunities.

She called for transparency and an urgent review of US deportation and relocation policies, stating, “No one wants to leave their home unless it is in the mouth of a dragon.

” After the fall of Kabul and the rise of the Taliban group, thousands of security personnel and their families have faced threats and violence, forcing many to flee to neighboring countries like Pakistan and Iran.

Difficult economic conditions and uncertainty about the future have created a widespread humanitarian crisis for these groups.

Koofi stressed that justice and transparency must be ensured in the migration process so loyal Afghan forces are not forgotten.
