The Afghanistan Freedom Front announced that its forces attacked the Taliban group’s Vice and Virtue Authority in Maimana city, Faryab province, on Sunday evening, November 30th.
The Front claims two Taliban members were killed in the attack, but the Taliban’s Ministry of Vice and Virtue spokesperson says the attack was prevented.
According to the Front, the attack was planned to target Taliban officers as they exited their building.
The fate of the Taliban’s head of the Vice and Virtue office in Maimana remains unknown.
Reports say Taliban officers patrol the city daily in groups, allegedly harassing citizens, especially women.
The Front has previously targeted Taliban morality police in Kabul, Takhar, and Kapisa as well.
