Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, stated in a recent interview with Indian media that Afghanistan under Taliban control faces unique challenges, but the group now holds power in the country.

He emphasized that the Taliban has acted against terrorist groups like ISIS.

Putin is the first leader from a major Security Council power to recognize the Taliban government, defending their record in combating terrorism and drug trafficking.

However, Western countries remain concerned about human rights, especially the ban on women’s work and education.

Meanwhile, concerns over regional terrorism are rising. The killing of five Chinese citizens at the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border has put more pressure on the Taliban to prevent such attacks and cooperate with neighboring countries.
