The Taliban Supreme Court announced that 35 individuals in Khost and Faryab provinces were publicly flogged for drug trafficking, selling narcotics, and theft.
In Khost, 34 people received between 10 and 39 lashes and were sentenced to one to seven years in prison.
In Faryab, one person was flogged 39 times for theft and sentenced to one year and six months in prison.
These punishments continue despite international condemnation, with observers noting a worsening human rights situation in Afghanistan.
Previously, the Taliban flogged 15 people in Kabul for drug trafficking, administering 10 to 30 lashes and prison sentences.
