Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, announced that to reduce traffic congestion, they have started the process of clearing unregistered and single-key vehicles across various parts of Kabul city.

In a tweet, he stated that these vehicles have been stopped by the Public Security Police in cooperation with Kabul Traffic Directorate and transferred to checkpoints.

Qani added that security forces, in coordination with traffic police, have set up inspection points at city gates and different areas to prevent movement of vehicles lacking proper documents.

The Ministry of Interior said that so far, around 1,200 single-key and unregistered vehicles have been stopped in Kabul.

This measure aims to reduce traffic and improve order in the city, with expectations that the clearance process will continue to alleviate Kabul’s traffic issues.
