The Afghanistan Freedom Front, in a statement marking International Human Rights Day, called for the launch of an international political process to end Taliban rule and pave the way for a democratic system based on the people’s vote in Afghanistan.
The Front highlighted that Afghanistan was among the first countries to sign the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and has joined key human rights conventions.
According to the statement, four years after the Taliban’s takeover, the fundamental rights of Afghans are being systematically violated, with Afghan women unprecedentedly excluded from social life.
The Front also criticized the international community and the United Nations for their inadequate response to Afghanistan’s crisis.
The group presented eight specific recommendations to the global community, including continued non-recognition of the Taliban, the creation of an international political process, halting the deportation of migrants, and supporting Afghan media and women.
