The Taliban Supreme Court has announced the public flogging of four individuals, including a woman, in Badakhshan and Ghazni provinces.

Accused of “moral crimes,” the victims received between 25 and 35 lashes, while two of them were also sentenced to one year in prison.

These corporal punishments were carried out in front of local officials and the public, continuing a trend that returned with the group’s rise to power.

Human rights organizations have strongly condemned these actions as cruel, degrading, and a clear violation of international laws.

A recent UN report highlights that the Taliban has flogged over 200 people in just the last three months.

The international community continues to raise alarms over the deteriorating human rights situation and the lack of legal protection for Afghan citizens.
