Mahmoud Fazli, the former head of the Administrative Office, has sharply criticized Pakistan’s reaction to the recent UN Security Council report.

He labeled Islamabad’s sense of vindication regarding the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan as a “political delusion” intended to mask historical realities.

Fazli argued that if Pakistan genuinely seeks stability, it must abandon its “trade of instability.” He urged the neighboring nation to stop hosting and organizing extremist proxy groups, stating that relying on a flawed report does not absolve them of their role in regional insecurity.
The comments come after the UN reported the continued activity of groups like ISIS-K and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. Fazli insisted that Pakistan’s victory lap is merely an attempt to justify decades of failed policies that have cost the region dearly.
