Shilpa Shetty has firmly denied tax evasion allegations following Income Tax raids on a Mumbai restaurant chain.
The Bollywood star clarified that her association with the company was non-executive and claimed her family actually loaned them ₹20 crore which remains unpaid.
In a strong statement, Shetty quoted the Bhagavad Gita, stating that failing to oppose injustice is “Adharma.” She expressed distress over the damage to her reputation and confirmed that a quashing petition has already been filed with the Bombay High Court.
Her husband, Raj Kundra, also slammed the accusations as baseless and motivated. The couple urged the media to report responsibly while the matter is sub judice, asserting their full faith in the Indian judiciary system to reveal the truth.
